The story itself is much broader than the role that the main character’s horse plays, but the horse is still a pretty big part of it. Used this as my holiday game for killing time when travelling. If you go all the way to the end of this game and breed a lot of your own horses you will find a bug when trying to delete horses. I can only assume it's an issue with what ever database they used to store the horse information. I encountered the same issue on PS4 where as you went on the game would lag while deleting a horse. On PS4 it could take about 30 seconds to a minute in the end. With the Switch it can take well over 20-30 minutes to delete a horse. Developed by the same company as Phar Lap, Rival Stars Horse Racing is a fabulous game for enthusiasts of the sport. As the main character of the game, you inherit your grandfather’s ranch which marks the beginning of your new life! Red Dead Redemption 2 also has some of the most realistic horse animations you’ll see on any game released in its time.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a wide variety of horse racing games on the market. Most games within the topic are either old with poor graphics or not available in English. Things are fairly boring at the start of the game. Your character and horse are as basic as can be, and you can only customize and upgrade stuff when you earn rewards by playing the game. The titular Windstorm is a stallion that was originally attached to the main character named Mika in the first installment. When your horse gets dirty, you can groom it by brushing it down or riding through a body of water. This is important because dirt reduces the health core of the horse when it is not cleaned up for a while. Again, as you can already tell from the sample screenshot that is attached above, this is not the most advanced of games that you’ll play on the PS5 when it comes to graphics.Cleaning up the horse as and when due also helps to ensure that it stays healthy, which is also important. Rival Stars Horse Racing allows you to live the life you always dreamed of within the confines of the game. Considering the relatively few options in the “horse riding” category, I’ve got a couple of suggestions for you if you’re looking for more. That said, Windstorm does look nice, and the details in Ari’s Arrival are clearly much improved in comparison to the first game. The game itself is split into three categories: Learning, Exam, and Mini-game. Learning prepares you for the Exam section by providing you with knowledge about the topic of horses.

The first point in its favor is the fact that there is a local multiplayer mode, and the game’s suitability for all age groups means that you can enjoy this multiplayer mode with pretty much anyone that can grasp the simple concept of it. Your journey with your horse starts out with standard lessons on sprinting, jumping, caring, and feeding. Once you’ve mastered these basics, you’re ready to start on the missions.The art direction is reminiscent of a toy approach with vibrant and cheerful colors that are probably more suited to a game set on the beach, but it does a job. The game also has an online multiplayer mode where you can compete with other horse racers for points. The player with the highest number of points at the end of each series of races wins. When you participate in races, you’ll earn money, EXP, and some useful items for use in the game’s components. The homestead is your domain, and here, you’ll work to improve your storehouse and your rate of income. The storehouse allows you to bulk up the capacity of your wares, gradually allowing you to hold more and more items throughout. Your income, on the other hand, is your flow of bread and butter, so to speak. You’ll revisit this tab quite often to take in some cash, with more cash rewarded as progression is eventually made. In Ari’s Arrival, the new main character is Ari, a foster girl that must help Windstorm to recover from the anxiety that was triggered by the fire that she experienced with Mika in the first game. Have an all time favourite racehorse? Want to turn your horse into a racehorse? Well in horse creator you can do just that. Choose from the coat colour options plus different markings before choosing their skill level. Once you have created your horse you can make it available to buy from the store in story mode. But you can’t breed from the horse.
