Which Deck Should You Start With?

In one sense it doesn't matter which you choose as your first deck.  It is probably best to avoid "specialist" ones that have a strong theme, like Cat People, or Dragons, for example.  If you can afford it, choose a pack rather than a deck, because then you will also have an appropriate book to go with your deck.  Most of the decks, however, do come with a small booklet with enough information to get you started.Original Rider Waite Tarot Deck

The Original Rider Waite Tarot Deck is a good bet to start off with.  Originally published at the beginning of the 20th Century it has been copied by many other decks since.  This deck is a classic in the sense that it is easy to learn from and also has enough depth in its symbolism to last you a lifetime. Consider also, the "Starter" tarot deck.  This one has the meanings of the cards printed on each one.  A clear advantage if you are just starting off on the tarot path.
